FAQs

Dates and Hours

We are a seasonal business, open from May 1 to September 30. Dates may change depending on weather conditions.

  • Check-in: 1:00 PM. If you arrive early, we’ll do our best to accommodate you depending on site availability.

  • Check-out: 12:00 noon. If you need a late check-out or wish to extend your stay, please check with the front desk.

The Lodge building and Office are open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
If the doors are closed, we may be assisting other guests—please call the posted number for help.

Restrooms and showers are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The bar is open daily from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM (or later) depending on the nightly crowd.

Laundry is open 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM daily.
Please check with the Front Office before starting:

  • Wash loads after 8:00 PM

  • Dryer loads after 8:40 PM
    Unattended items left at closing will be held for 48 hours before donation or disposal.

Quiet time is from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

Please be considerate of other guests—Alaska’s long summer daylight can make it easy to forget the time!

Getting Here

1. Can I use GPS to find Tundra RV Park and Bar?

We recommend not relying solely on GPS. Many rural areas in Alaska lack recognized street addresses, causing GPS errors.
Some GPS systems may direct you 1–10 miles off course.

Use Google Maps and search for “Tundra RV Park and Bar” rather than entering an address.

– Directions:

  • From Canada: Stay on the Alaska Highway toward Fairbanks. We’re at Mile Post 1315, on the right-hand side, one mile past the Tok Cut-off (AK Hwy 1).

  • From Fairbanks: We’re at Mile Post 1315, on the left-hand side, one mile before the Tok main intersection.

  • From Glennallen: Turn left onto the Alaska Highway (toward Fairbanks) at the Tok Cut-off intersection. We’re one mile past the intersection, on the right-hand side.

Cancellations and Changes

All cancellations must be made by phone during business hours.
Email cancellations are not accepted.

  • More than 30 days’ notice: Refund (minus 10% admin fee)

  • Between 30 and 2 days’ notice: Credit (minus 50% admin fee)

  • Less than 2 days’ notice: No refund or credit

  • Holidays or special event weekends: No refunds or credits

  • Early departures or no-shows: No refunds or credits

  • Credits must be used within one year of issue date.

We recommend travel insurance for unexpected situations.

Yes. We allow up to two changes without a fee. Additional changes may incur a 10% change fee.

Discounts

1. Do you offer discounts?

Yes:

  • Military & First Responders: 10% off site charge

  • Pre- and Post-Season Discounts: Reduced rates from May 1–15 and September 15–30 (electric-only sites, weather dependent)

Special Events

Do you host special events?

Yes! We hold a monthly Potluck on the first Sunday of each month, plus a Season Finale Rib Cook-off.
Guests are encouraged (but not required) to bring a dish to share.
Each Potluck has a fun theme:

  • May: Cinco de Mayo

  • June: Taste of Italy

  • July: Christmas in July

  • August: Summer Grilling

  • September: Chili Warm-up

  • Finale: Rib Cook-off

Reserved Sites

1. Can I choose my own site?

Yes! You can select a specific site using our booking system.
However, we reserve the right to move your site before your visit if needed.

You can lock your site for an additional fee to ensure it remains reserved for you.
We recommend locking if:

  • You’ve stayed with us before and know your preferred site

  • You’re traveling with others and want adjacent sites

If your chosen site becomes unavailable, we’ll assign a comparable or better site.
